Launched in 2019, the KARRY Dolphin EV was the industry's first large van model developed from the ground up. The cargo area is designed to be highly rectangular, featuring an aluminum alloy floor with anti-slip patterns to better secure goods. The KARRY Dolphin EV utilizes an aerospace-grade aluminum body for its logistics vehicle, with a frame made of high-strength roll-formed rectangular steel and aluminum extrusions. Aluminum accounts for 58% of the vehicle's weight, contributing to its lightweight design. This enhances its load-carrying capacity, with a rated payload of nearly 1.3 tons.
The KARRY Dolphin EV offers various versions in terms of its core the battery, the motor, and the electronic control unit. The model participating in the challenge is equipped with a 43.5 kWh battery pack from Gotion High-Tech, providing a range of 270 kilometers under standard conditions. The motor is a permanent magnet synchronous motor from Chery Commercial Vehicles, with a peak power of 75 kW, a maximum torque of 265 Nm, and a maximum climbing gradient of 25%. Due to the comprehensive upgrade of this year's challenge events, all participating vehicles will undergo extreme load tests, including cycle condition tests, acceleration and braking, as well as climbing and water fording challenges. The Dolphin EV's participation underscores the brand's confidence in its product capabilities. The real-world range and power data recorded during the challenge demonstrate that, despite being a veteran model launched in 2019, the Dolphin EV still stands strong. Its solid performance earned it the Best Range Award and the Best Power Performance Award.
